What Is Constipation Problem?

If any person passes the stool three times a week or less, then it is said to be the situation of constipation. It is a problem of passing stool. In this situation, the person has to face the problem of passing stool from anal. This problem happens when the stool moves very slowly from the large intestine, and all the water gets absorbed by the wall, and the stool becomes hard, which is very difficult to pass. Normal constipation problem always remains only from 1-2 weeks but if it is longer than the above time, then it considers as the Constipation Problem.

  • Fewer bowel movements (lesser than 3 in a week). The dry and hard stool create problem to pass. The reason behind it, dryness in the large intestine and slow peristaltic movement of the large intestine.   

  • Difficulty in passing stool. All the water gets absorbed by the wall, and the stool becomes hard, which is very difficult to pass.

  • Stomach pain in the lower abdomen is the part of the larger intestine as the stool stays here for a long time, which makes discomfort, and the reason some people may suffer from nausea and Bloating.

  • Not satisfying after passing stool. People are never satisfied after the evacuation. Some people rush to the washroom three to four times a day, but they are never satisfied.

  • Bleeding after passing stool.  It is the case of bleeding piles when stool becomes hard, then it makes trouble to pass through the anal area and makes scratches on the wall of the anal part due to this burning or bleeding may appear.

  • Pain in the anal area after a bowel movement.  It is the case with non-bleeding piles. After evacuation, when the harder stool passes, it makes the swelling in that part, there is nothing type of bleeding, but pain due to swelling may appear.


Reason Behind Constipation

  • Sudden changes in daily lifestyle also make the problem of constipation.

  • Low intake of fiber-rich food in the diet. Fiber-rich food makes smooth functioning of your intestine. Fibre retains fluid which makes waste material easier to pass.

  • Lack of physical exercise. Physical exercise makes your body for smooth functioning. Lack of exercise slower the body functions and causes constipation.

  • Some hormonal changes (Case of Hypothyroidism). Due to hypothyroidism, all the body functions become slower than it is also the reason behind constipation.

  • Weakness in the muscles of the colon. When the muscles colon becomes weak, the stool that passes through it will be stuck with the wall, and the stool becomes harder, which is more difficult to pass.

  • Colon cancer is also the reason for constipation.

  • Lesser water intake. There is a need for water for a better digestive system or smooth functioning of the whole body.

  • Stress is also a reason behind constipation.

  • Overuse of laxatives. By the overuse of laxatives, the intestine becomes dependent on them. So, when we stop taking Laxatives the constipation problem remains the same.

  • Hold the urge to poop.

  • Irritable bowel syndrome is also biggest the problem for constipation.

  • Parkinson's disease.


Constipation Treatments and Home Remedies

Some Good habits and home remedies to become healthy and solve the constipation problem.

  • Drink eight to ten glasses of water or a minimum of two-liter water in a day. It makes your body stay hydrated and improves your overall digestive system.

  • Never avoid the urge of the stool. When there is an urge rush to the washroom.

  • Take lukewarm water especially in the morning. Create pressure for emptying waste material from your body and improving your digestion.

  • Stay hydrated.

  • Add physical and aerobic exercises to your daily life.

  • Do some of the Yoga pranayamas like Kapalbhati on an empty stomach.

  • Include eating green vegetables& fruits in your diet.

  • Use probiotic food in your diet like curd etc.

  • Use Triphala powder with lukewarm water before going to bed.

  • Take seven to eight hours of sleep to relax your mind as the mind stable the whole functioning of your body.

  • Increase the leafy vegetables in your diet.
